UCHS will have two show offices - one for hunters and breeding entries and one for jumper entries Please keep all hunter and breeding entries and jumper entries completely separate ¬ therefore, duplicates of USEF cards, measurement cards, etc, will be needed for both entry groups Checks should be attached to the applicable entries If a horse is cross entering between the disciplines please fill out two entry forms

RULES AND REGULATIONS Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: In order to compete at a USEF licensed with hunter, hunter breeding, jumper and hunter seat equitation classes (except those activities enumerated above in GR901.9 items 1-9) each horse must be registered with the USHJA. |
| FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing the entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the "Federation") and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4. |
| 1. The Show Committee reserves the right to limit the number of entries accepted in any division / class (USEF Rule GR915). Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis based on the date received in the horse show office until the number desired in each division. The Committee may vary the number accepted in each division/class in order to achieve the desired overall figure. |
| 2. Management reserves the right to limit entries in any class, section or division, to deny, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, and cancel award prizes, without any claim for damages; to redesign any course, to add a dotted line, to cancel or combine any unfilled classes or to reschedule classes (after notice to exhibitors); to change rings or switch judges; to change criteria in hunter, breeding and jumper classes as the show warrants. |

| 4. Entries must be made on the regular printed form or a copy thereof and signed by the exhibitor (or his agent), the trainer and the owner. A proper mailing address, telephone numbers and Social Security Number or Federal ID Number for each prize money recipient must be provided. To simplify your arrival at the show, please send the following items with your entries (Numbers will not be issued until all of the required information has been presented): USEF and USHJA Membership Cards • Amateur Certification • Measurement Cards (Ponies & Junior Hunters) • Negative Coggins Certificate (within 12 months) • Health Certificates (within 30 days) for all out of state horses (must be available for inspection by a representative of the State Veterinarian upon request) • Home address and USEF/USHJA/VHSA/MHSA membership numbers for all trainers, riders & owners in USEF/VHSA Medals and Equitation. |
| 5. All entries must be accompanied by payment of necessary fees. Checks may be made payable to Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS). All stall orders must be accompanied with full payment for the number of stalls requested – each stall is $225 for the week. Open checks made payable to UCHS will be required for all entries before horse numbers will be given to the exhibitor. |
| 6. Scratch Fee of $30 will be charged for each horse scratched. Horses scratched before May 15th will receive a full refund of all fees paid – less a $30 scratch fee. Scratches after May 15: refund of entry fees less a $30 scratch fee will be issued only upon notification and receipt of veterinarian's certificate stating that the horse is not physically fit to be shown. |
| 7. Prize money checks will be mailed after the conclusion of the show to the person/company as indicated in the "prize money recipient" section of entry blank. Social Security or Federal ID number and mailing address of recipient is required before any prize money will be paid. IRS Form 1099 Misc will be issued. |
| 8. Any rider, regardless of age, must wear properly fastened protective headgear, which meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag, at all times when mounted. |
| 9. Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above-described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. |
| 10. Jumping orders will be produced in accordance with USEF Rule HU158 and JP112 |
| 11. Courses will consist of any combination of the following: brush, wall, in and out, oxer, post and rails, gate, aiken, panels |
| 12. Poling, including the use of offsets, is prohibited at all times. |
| 13. There will be no schooling in the hunter rings or in the jumper rings at any time. |
| 14. Dogs must be kept on leashes. Fines will be imposed for damage or interference caused by your dog. The dog warden will be called if necessary. |
| 15. Sharps Containers will be provided in the stable area. All exhibitors and their agents are responsible for the proper disposal of medical waste. |
| 16. Upperville Colt and Horse Show, Inc will not be responsible for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost, destroyed or in any way injured. Each exhibitor shall be responsible for any injury that may be occasioned to any person whomsoever by any horses exhibited; and each exhibitor shall in demnify Upperville Colt and Horse Show, Inc against all claims or demands of any kind or nature that may grow out of injury occasioned by any horse exhibited, or arise from the negligence of the person in charge of such horse. Note agreement on entry form. |
| 17. Upperville Colt and Horse Show, Inc. will not be responsible for any injury, whatsoever, to any spectator |
| 18. Exhibitors are on notice that any act of discourtesy or disobedience by them, their riders, grooms or agents to the judges or officials shall disqualify their entry and the owner shall forfeit all fees and charges, including any and all prize money which he may have won at this show. The Horse Show management / directors shall have the power to disbar the offending individual from further competition and to have him and his entire exhibit removed from the grounds without being held liable for damage of any kind and this shall be accepted as a condition of entry. |
| 19. Upperville Colt and Horse Show, Inc. reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the ring and to remove any attendant or horse from the show without being liable for compensation. |
| 20. Management reserves the right to interpret all questions and conditions not covered by the USEF or these rules and regulations of the Upperville Colt and Horse Show. Should any questions or disputed arise that are not provided for in the rules, the same shall be referred to management and/or directors, whose decision shall be final. |

VANS: Free parking in a designated area on the Salem Jumper Side. No vans or trailers will be allowed to park in the stable area on hunter or jumper side. Vans improperly parked will be towed at the owners expense.
RINGSIDE parking is available on the hunter side as well as the jumper side. There is a limited number of ringside parking spaces for cars. Campers or other large/tall vehicles which block spectators' vision may not park at ringside. Previous purchasers have first option.
SHIP INs / DAY PARKING: Free daily parking on Hunter side for hunter ship ins. See parking attendant at entrance gate for directions and assistance in parking.
CAMPER SPACE is $200 per space for the week. Seven day maximum. Please order on the entry blank. Camper spaces will be assigned -- check with the office to pick up your camper pass.
All stalls must be ordered on the entry blank in the appropriate box. Please designate your preference on the entry blank as to hunter or jumper side. In addition, please specify with whom you would like to stable with on the entry blank.
All stalls are 10 x 10 vinyl with doors under tents.
Stall fee is $225 per stall for the week. Payment for stalls must accompany the entry blank or the stall will not be reserved.
Stall fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
HORSES MAY NOT BE BROUGHT ON THE GROUNDS BEFORE SUNDAY, June 2, 2012.
To alleviate congestion - Absolutely no commercial shippers allowed on Hunter side between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 9.
Horse show management requests private shipping between these hours be limited.
