Upperville, Va. – May 29, 2019 – The team at the Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS) is pleased to recognize Sharon Lynn Campbell as this year’s official artist. Most known for her portrait oil paintings of horses, pets and their owners, Campbell’s pieces have been showcased at top horse shows around the country for almost two decades. This year, the UCHS is pleased to present Campbell’s work as the featured image of the 2019 prize list and program.

“The [Upperville Colt & Horse Show] is such a beautiful show and I am so happy to be a part of it,” Campbell said. “There is so much history in it. For the prize list, I wanted some movement in the painting, so I chose a cantering horse. Even though it’s a grey horse, I wanted it to stand out. I was able to do that by putting it against a white background, which is unique I think. It’s one of my favorites.”

In addition to Campbell’s featured UCHS prize list artwork, her other pieces can be seen on numerous magazines, program covers, and various private collections and galleries across the United States. Campbell specializes in private portraits by commission, and she meets clients for consultations at homes, farms and horse shows. Campbell will be onsite during the 2019 UCHS for those interested in scheduling a meeting or viewing her portrait pieces.

Campbell said, “A lot of people ask me if I need to be in the right mood to paint or if I need music. I wish they could see what environment I really paint through – I have pets in my studio, paintings on the go in all different stages, and the phone ringing non-stop! I absolutely love my job and I feel like I have such a blessed life to be able to do this for a living. This September will mark 20 years of my painting career and I still love it.”
