Upperville, Va. – April 14, 2021 – Entries are now open for the 2021 Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS)! The highly anticipated historic event will take place starting Monday, June 7, through Sunday, June 13, at the Grafton and Salem Farm Showgrounds in Upperville, Virginia. The UCHS is excited to announce some of the new additions to this year’s 168th-anniversary event. Class specifications, rules, awards, prize money distribution and a full schedule can all be accessed in the 2021 UCHS Prize List here.

Entries for the competition are open now, and will be accepted online only and on a first-come, first-served basis through HorseShowsOnline. Entries will be accepted until May 8, 2021, but are expected to sell out quickly!

The UCHS attracts hundreds of world-class equestrians who compete in disciplines ranging from show jumping, hunter and equitation divisions to local ponies, in-hand breeding and sidesaddle. In addition to its FEI CSI4* designation, the competition will also play host to a Premier/AA and Jumper Rating Six classification with US Equestrian (USEF), the Virginia Horse Shows Association (VHSA) and the Maryland Horse Shows Association (MHSA) and is a World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) recognized show.

New for 2021, the renowned Main Hunter Ring will be named the Parker Main Hunter Ring in honor of Dr. Betsee Parker’s generous support of the Upperville Colt & Horse Show and her numerous successes under the oaks over the years. In addition, Jumper Ring 1 will be named the B&D Builders Jumper Ring, while Jumper Ring 2 will be designated as the HorseFlight Jumper Ring. New this year, the FEI schooling arena will boast the Corro name. Other meaningful updates that have been made to the facility include:

  • New longeing ring added to the hunter side of the showgrounds
  • New footing in the main hunter warm-up ring
  • New farrier pavilion
  • Updated water and electric systems throughout the showgrounds
  • Thoroughbred Incentive High Point prize money awards
  • Additional $37,000 Upperville Power & Speed States CSI 4*

As the oldest horse show in the United States, spectators and exhibitors have been traveling to the heart of horse country in Upperville for decades for this can’t-miss event. Organizers of the show are looking forward to celebrating the 168th anniversary of the show and are confident that this year’s event will be a success.
