Virginia Horse Shows Association (VHSA) members voted the Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS) 2021 Horse Show of the Year. This is a record eleventh time that VHSA has awarded this designation to UCHS, which showcased its 168th competition June 7-13, 2021, at Grafton and Salem Showgrounds in Upperville, VA.

A year after the pandemic cancellation, competition returned to the historic show grounds with a record 1,872 entries and nearly 20,000 spectators throughout the week of competition.

“Horse shows are nominated and voted upon by the VHSA membership,” explained VHSA Executive Secretary Angie Mauck. “This show is historically one of the most famous horse shows in the world and has been awarded this year by the voting membership for continuing its high standards and traditions. Congratulations!”

UCHS Director Emily Day said, “Upperville Colt & Horse Show is extremely honored to receive this award. We are fortunate to have an amazing team of people that work long hours together to put on this show, and I couldn’t be more pleased that our exhibitors enjoyed the event. This award really belongs to everyone who had a hand in producing Upperville this year, and I can’t think of a better way to say, “well done” to our Board and staff.”

“We all join in thanking the VHSA members for their support year after year for our historic show, under the oaks in Upperville,” Show President Joe Fargis concurred. “The hard work of the Upperville community deserves a big thanks to make this possible.”

The 169th Upperville Colt & Horse Show presented by MARS Equestrian™ will return to Grafton and Salem Showgrounds June 6-12, 2021.
